Waiving Tap fees

If a municipality waives water/sewer tap fees for a development, does the municipality need to use money from the General fund to pay those fees back to the water and sewer funds?

Hi Debra, this may be defined in your municipal code. If not, it would be helpful to have an internal policy on it. We are working on updating our policy around incentive right now for this very reason. I always push that when you waive fees in a utility fund, that fund needs to be made whole.
