Accessible ACFR

Posted by Carol Block on Apr. 16, 2024  /   2

The State of Colorado has a law that requires information on the websites of Colorado government entities to meet accessibility standards. This is likely to become a nationwide standard eventually. Our county has not yet found a feasible way to covert complex documents, such as the Budget Book or ACFR, which contain complex tables, charts, pictures, and texts. Has anyone converted their ACFR or Budget Book to accessible standards? I'm seeking information about your tools, the time involved, and what the end product looks like. Thank you

Hello - OUr Communications Department likes this software and we have received the grant. Here is the announcment: SIPA is proud to announce the opening of a new grant program for local governments to obtain software for creating or modifying documents to meet accessibility compliance guidelines as required by Colorado’s House Bill 21-1110. In partnership with Allyant, one of our newest supplier partners, SIPA will cover the cost for 5,000 one-year licenses for Allyant’s CommonLook PDF and CommonLook Office products that allow users to create accessible documents, as well as training to implement and utilize the software. Eligible governments will be able to apply for up to 25 licenses when the application opens on March 27, 2024 at 9:00 AM.

That's helpful. I think we've applied. Has your ACFR been converted?
