Pre-Conference Session

BACK AGAIN this year... Join CGFOA earlier in the week in Durango for a special in person pre-conference offering of our Introduction to Government Accounting - Accelerated Immersion Course on July 28-29. (13.5 CPE) 

A 1.5 day accelerated immersion and introduction to government accounting session. This course will review fund accounting, fund types, the chart of accounts, the differences between modified accrual and full accrual, basics of government-wide financial statements, general disclosures required in government financial statements, fund balance and net position, revenue, deferred outflows and inflows, investments, capital assets, basics of GASB, long-term liabilities, compensated absences, CAFR, challenges between modified vs. full accrual accounting in financial statements, common mistakes in government-wide financial statements and governmental fund statements, analyzing governmental financial statements, ACFR prep tips, and discussion of issues unique to Colorado governments.

This training is appropriate for anyone new to governmental accounting or anyone who needs a refresher. Feel free to bring your financials or budget for hands on training.
